Launched in 1999, Intervention Arts first formed as a recording studio, which quickly evolved in to a record label, and became the leading alternative music distributor in South Africa. More than 20 releases later, IA now has offices in Chicago, IL USA and Johannesburg, South Africa in addition to individual reps and distribution sources around the world. IA was one of the largest importers of alternative music to South Africa for over a decade, servicing over 40 major chains and independents. Today we provide artist management, product development, distribution and promotion with award-winning PR, marketing and radio promotions partners, bringing the best in South African "intelligent alternative" music to the global market. Intervention Arts also owns the famous Red Room nightclub in Johannesburg, where IA's blend of intelligent alternative is heard every Saturday night - since 2004 and going strong.
